Ballet, Jazz or Choreography
Jenna Morris performed and trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and tap styles of dance for 17 years. She performed in multiple dance roles in “The Nutcracker” and has held many lead roles in other dance productions, such as Rosie in “Mama Mia”, Lost Boy in “Peter Pan”, Annie in “Annie”, a Muse in “Hercules”, and Frollo in “Hunchback of Notre Dame”. Along with graduating with dance honors, Jenna won many choreography competitions and had the privilege to train and rehearse choreography on dancers and see her work performed on stage.
Jenna received her professional training in ballet and lyrical from Erika Farrar Romanyuk, owner and director of Arizona Classical Ballet in Yuma, AZ. Erika danced professionally in ballet with dance companies, such as Ballet Magnificat, Nashville Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Epiphany Dancers, and was a principal at Hosanna Dance Company. Her professional dance performing career spans over 20 years and is now quite busy with her dance company Arizona Classical Ballet in Yuma.
Jenna received two years of training with Erika’s husband, Pavel Romanyuk, before his passing. Pavel Romanyuk graduated from the Moscow Bolshoi Ballet Academy, the best dance school in Russia. His premiere in Russia was as Albrecht in “Giselle”, he then went on to win first place in the Russian Ballet in 1992. He had many leading roles in “Swan Lake”, “Cinderella”, “Paquita”, “The Nutcracker”, “Don Quixote”, Balanchine’s “Serenade” and many more. Pavel danced with famous Russian dancers, such as Ludmila Semeniaka, Rudolf Nureyev, Mikhail Lavrovsky, and Ekatrina Maximova. Pavel earned his Master’s Degree in choreography in 1991. He finished his professional dance career in the United States with Nevada Dance Theater and was a principal dancer in “Jubilee”.
Jenna received other dance training in her early years from Yuma Ballet Theatre, Dancemakers, and Yuma Ballet Academy. She trained in jazz and lyrical styles of dance from Myriah Farrar, owner of JAMS/Dancer’s Workshop and Cindy Turrentine from Dancemakers. Jenna also received her early ballet training from Kathy Sinclair at Yuma Ballet Academy. She was in a performing dance program with Kofa Royal Dancers for 3 years in which Jenna had her many lead roles and choreography success.
